Benefits of Using a Bean Bag Liner

It’s fair to say that the use of an inner liner won’t make much difference to the overall enjoyment of your room’s new bean bag.

You would probably argue that the polystyrene balls used as filling are inside and will do the same job whether or not you decide to put them in a liner before putting them inside the outer bag. Also you might think that it is a waste of time. You may be mistaken though. Much more time and effort may be needed if a liner isn’t used. Whilst this will apply mostly to those of you with children, many adults may have a clumsy spell, ourselves included, and so the second reason to use a liner may apply to them as well.

The first issue with not using an inner liner is that all big bean chairs will have a zip. The problem here of course is when a curious child finds your gigantic cushion there might be trouble. It’s a fact that no-one can resist their comfort level and I’m sure children are no exception. It is only a matter of time before they search around the outer layer and find the zip. The big problem begins once it’s undone. Once the child has opened it they will probably feel mixed emotions.. They will most likely be confused and upset that they can no longer sit in comfort because the bag is empty; but also, they may feel a moment of happiness as thousands of polystyrene balls race in all directions across the room and it looks like it’s snowing. You also may feel mixed emotions when you find the room covered with tiny balls, though, it is doubtful that happiness will be one of them. There could be panic as the child raises a polystyrene ball to their mouth for a taste but also, frustration at the time and effort involved in the clean-up operation. If an inner liner is used, the zip may be undone without any worry and the insides can be removed safely and effortlessly.

As mentioned above, adults may be responsible for a careless mistake as well as a child. The problem here is refreshment spillages or dirty clothes. If a drink is spilled on the outer cover, or if it gets dirty it is not likely that there will be a problem if it is quickly cleaned off. The problem lies where a drink, cola or milk are a good example, is spilled on a seam where it might soak through. If an inner liner is used, this can quickly be removed and the residue of the spill inside can be easily cleaned off. This is necessary particularly with milk. Although, cola will cause the inside to become sticky over time; milk over time will begin to smell rather unpleasant and eventually stink the house out!

Another massive benefit of having an inner liner is that should the cover get too dirty, beyond a quick wipe with a damp cloth, the cover can easily be removed and washed without the laborious task of emptying out and replacing all of the filling.

Bearing these points in mind, we think that it is fair to say that the use of an inner liner is in everyone’s best interests, especially where children and dirt are involved.
